Patrick Steptoe one of the pioneers of IVF who with Robert Edwards and Jean Purdy produced the world's first IVF baby in July 1978 Patric Steptoe who pioneered the use of laparoscopy in gynaecology and with Robert Edwards was the pioneer of IVF
This glossary was compiled by Tim Appleton as a result of a suggestion from Patrick Steptoe in 1988. He had proposed a collaboration where he would write the text and the author assemble/create the graphics. Unfortunately Patrick died in March 1988: this illustrated glossary has been created and continues to grow in his memory. Suggestions for new material are always acceptable.

This is an illustrated glossary with over 200 entries illustrated with many graphics, photographs &
